The valve site is located on the North side of the road by the St-Clair River.
NEB inspectors noticed that the valve site is fenced and locked. There is a sign indicating the company name with the emergency contact number.
There are three bidirectional lines delivering and receiving natural gas to and from Union Gas and Enbridge. These lines cross the St-Clair River to the USA on the south side.
There are four pig launchers / receivers on this site. The company representatives confirmed that they have procedures for receiving and launching pigs.
NEB inspectors noticed that the above ground piping appeared to be properly supported and the coating was in good condition.

Observation 2 - Sarnia Meter Station

NEB inspectors noticed that the meter station is fenced and locked. There is a sign indicating the company name with the emergency contact number.
The meter station has three meter runs, using vortex meters, delivering natural gas to Union Gas.
NEB inspectors noticed that the above ground piping appeared to be properly supported and the coating was in good condition. The above ground piping was labeled for direction of flow.
Observation 3 - Mainline Valve MLV501-3-RT

This valve site is where line 500-3 terminates. There is a pig receiver for line 500-3 and line 500-3 ties into lines 500-1 and 500-2. The pig receiver had an interlocking device on the door and the company explained that they have procedures for receiving and launching pigs.
Site is fenced and the access gate is kept locked. The site has a sign with the company name and emergency phone number.
The coating on the above ground piping was in good condition and the piping appeared to be properly supported.
Observation 4 - Dawn Meter Station

This meter station is where lines 500-1 and 500-2 ends. There are three meter buildings (A, B and C) on site. Meters A and B are delivering to Enbridge while meter C is bi-directional and connected to Union Gas. All meters on site were ultrasonic meters. Meter C was also equipped with gas quality monitoring equipment.There are two pig receivers for lines 500-1 and 500-2. The pig receivers had interlocking devices on their doors and the company explained that they have procedures for receiving and launching pigs.Site is fenced and the access gate is kept locked. The site has a sign with the company name and emergency phone number.The coating on the above ground piping was in good condition and the piping appeared to be properly supported. The above ground piping was labeled for direction of flow.The valves are equipped with position indicators and the valves were locked.
