Relevant section(s):

Company action required:

Enbridge has stated that the casing installed at the HDD location entry point (pipe exit location) was removed after the completion of the HDD installation, the conductivity testing and the pipe cut off. At the time of the CER inspection the casing was still in place. Enbridge was requested by CER inspectors to provide an update on the pipe conditions and any further conductivity tests that might be performed after casing removal. Enbridge provided an update on March 10 stating that minor damage to the ARO layer of the coating was noted when the casing was removed and that crew will remove the first 15 m on the pipe bore section. CER inspectors require the following information with regards to the pipe condition at this location:

  1. Is the ARO coating damage limited to the section of the pipe that was in contact with the casing? and how much did the damage extend along the pipe.
  2. How many meters of the pipe was exposed when the casing was removed?
  3. Does Enbridge know what caused the damage to the coating?
