CER Inspectors reviewed the project-specific training records and training content provided to TC Energy Inspectors (Inspectors). This review evidenced TC Energy is overseeing and directing the work undertaken on their behalf by their Contractors.

Observation 3 - IR#1: audiometric testing for noise-exposed workers

During the inspection, hydrovac operators were questioned if they had received audiometric testing before or during their work on the West Path Delivery Project. One worker who had started two months prior stated she was not tested. Another worker could not recall having a hearing test for several years. At the closing meeting, it was unclear if noise-exposed workers were required to undergo audiometric testing at any time.

It is noted that workers are required to wear hearing protection when they are exposed to noise levels greater than 85dBA.
